20 mm Metal
crushed stone
20 mm crushed stone — the single most-specified coarse aggregate in Indian construction. Default size for ready-mix concrete, residential and commercial RCC, road base, and mass concrete. We supply it from our own crusher at Chimakurthy.
About 20 mm Metal
IS 383:2016 Grade I coarse aggregate, nominal max size 20 mm. Standard for all ready-mix mixes in our M-grade range. Cubical particle shape, controlled gradation, low flakiness, and minimal deleterious matter — every batch leaves the crusher with these parameters checked.
Where 20 mm Metal fits — and where it doesn't
Specifying the right aggregate size and grade saves cement, simplifies placement, and avoids rework. Below is a quick guide based on IS / MoRT&H norms and what we see ordered from our Chimakurthy crusher across Prakasam district.

- Residential and commercial RCC — slabs, beams, columns, footings
- Foundation concrete and mass pours
- Road sub-base and base course concrete
- Industrial floors
- Compound walls, retaining walls
- Bridge decks and culverts
Don't use 20 mm Metal for
- Sections thinner than ~50 mm (use 10 mm)
