Use cases

Where 20 mm Metal fits — and where it doesn't

Use 20 mm Metal for

  • Standard ready-mix concrete (M15 through M40)
  • Residential and commercial RCC — slabs, beams, columns, footings
  • Foundation concrete and mass pours
  • Road sub-base and base course concrete
  • Industrial floors
  • Compound walls, retaining walls
  • Bridge decks and culverts

Don't use 20 mm Metal for

  • Sections thinner than ~50 mm (use 10 mm)
  • Heavily congested reinforcement where flow is restricted
FAQ

Common questions about 20 mm Metal

What is 20 mm aggregate used for in concrete?
20 mm is the standard primary coarse aggregate for almost all ready-mix and site-mixed concrete. It provides bulk, reduces cement demand, and works for structural sections from 75 mm thick upwards. About 90% of construction in Prakasam district uses 20 mm as the main stone.
How much 20 mm aggregate is in one cubic metre of concrete?
For a standard M20 mix, roughly 1100 – 1200 kg of 20 mm metal per m³ (depending on mix design and whether 10 mm is also used). The full breakdown is on the batch slip we issue with every concrete dispatch.
Do you deliver 20 mm aggregate to Ongole, Chirala, Kandukur?
Not at the moment — all aggregates are sold ex-works at our Chimakurthy crusher. You bring your own tipper (or hire one — we can suggest local transporters) and we load on site. Chimakurthy is roughly 30 – 50 km from these towns; round-trip is typically 1.5 – 2 hours per load. We plan to resume direct transport in future.
